What To Expect with Me
Some people use therapy to address a specific problem that is affecting them or their family in a negative or confusing way; maybe they want to understand more about the way they react to things, or talk about difficult or painful experiences. I understand it can be hard to find the right support for deeply personal worries and concerns, and I welcome any questions about how I might be a good fit.
I believe people are the experts of their own lives, and I always feel so privileged to explore inner experiences and the rich and deep knowledge people have about themselves and what might be helpful. I like to invite curiosity about the impact of social and cultural influences, power, resources, and relationships on our shared human experience.
I work collaboratively with people to support change or explore preferred directions. This might include learning skills, processing experiences, or inviting understanding through questions and feedback. I am inspired by training and research in social justice, trauma, youth & young adult mental health, family therapy, and LGBTQIA issues.
I am a white, cis, queer Canadian and I offer a brave and affirming space for individuals, families, couples, and partners in other types of relationships to explore what's possible. I work with trans and queer identified people, both teen and adult, as well as people who have experienced childhood trauma and/or sexual violence. I also bring experience from the touring music industry, the arts, and community organizing. Call or email me to schedule a time to talk about what's important to you.
